London Teaching Pool is currently seeking for an experienced part time support worker (24 hours contracted hours) to join our care team to provide support and promote the independence of our client in Clacton On Sea
The client is aged between 45 - 55 years and is diagnosed with profound learning disability and autism . The client will need a 2:1 support to access the community and engage with planned activities, visiting open spaces and accessing unfamiliar spaces. Client is non verbal and uses Makaton for communication , however it is important for his care staff to have good knowledge and understanding of our client needs and behaviour
The preferred support worker should have experience with providing support with similar clients and also ensure they will be able to engage the client with age appropriate activities, Experience and qualification in PMVA (De escalation techniques) is beneficial but not essential, however the support worker must be consistent and a car driver, including having a good local knowledge within , Clacton on Sea, Colchester and surroundings , as you will drive the client to some new areas.
This is a flexible part time position contracted for 24 hours per week, with shifts arranged in liaison with the live in carers. There are also zero hours shifts to pick to support our other services in Colchester
What we expect from you:
To provide high standards of support to service users in the community, including assistance with, escorting, budgeting and shopping
Provide Respite to Live in Carer
To be reliable, punctual and excellent duty of care
Previous support experience is preferred.
