Band 5 Registered Nurse (RGN) - Lewisham Hospital
Location: Lewisham Hospital, London
Salary: Up to £30.00 per hour
Hours of work: 11.5hrs per day
TLTP Medical is actively searching for committed Band 5 Registered Nurses (RGN) to become an integral part of the dynamic team at Lewisham Hospital. In this position as a Registered General Nurse (RGN), we are seeking individuals who are not only passionate and self-driven but also forward-thinking and genuinely enthusiastic about providing exceptional patient care. Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify signs of mental illnesses, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and substance abuse.
Develop and implement individualized care plans to support patients in their journey to recovery, with a strong emphasis on holistic care.
Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, while monitoring patients for any side effects or adverse reactions.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure the best possible care for patients.
Provide support and education to patients and their families to facilitate understanding and coping with mental health conditions.
Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date in accordance with hospital policies.
Stay informed about the latest advancements and best practices in the field of mental health nursing.
Requirements:
Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical and social aspects, to determine their healthcare needs and develop individualised care plans.
Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring proper dosage and patient safety.
Wound Care: Provide wound care, dressing changes, and other specialised care for patients with injuries or surgical wounds.
Monitoring Vital Signs: Monitor and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature, to track their overall health status.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and self-care techniques to promote recovery and overall health.
Infection Control: Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of diseases within healthcare settings.
Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting care plans, observations, and interventions.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
Rehabilitation Support: Assist with the rehabilitation of patients, including physical therapy, mobility exercises, and monitoring progress.
Comfort and Support: Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during challenging times.
Adherence to Regulations: Adhere to healthcare policies, procedures, and legal regulations to ensure patient safety and the highest standards of care.
Care Planning: Contribute to care planning and discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients from the hospital to other healthcare settings or home.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with patients, their families, and colleagues to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care.

Qualifications
