We are currently recruiting Band 2 Mental Health Assistants and Care Assistants to work at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough 

The role - Mental Health Assistants and Care Assistants 

The role is an immediate start on a flexible contracted basis for the following shifts:

Long Day: 07:00 - 19:30

Long Night: 19:00 - 07:30

Pay rates via Umbrella 

Mental Health Assistants

• Monday to Friday: £13ph
• Saturday & Nights: £15ph
• Sunday: £18ph

Care Assistants

• Monday to Friday: £12.05ph
• Saturday & Nights: £13ph
• Sunday: £15ph

Duties - Mental Health Assistants and Care Assistants

The role requires providing personal care, medication, moving and handling and social support to patients being treated in the hospital. Tasks include:

• Washing and dressing patients
• Serving meals and helping to feed patients
• Assisting Nursing staff where necessary
• Basic observations (Vital Signs)
• Monitoring and recording blood pressure & temperature
• Capillary blood sugars tests

Person specification - Mental Health Assistants and Care Assistants 

• You must be qualified to a Band 2 level / Health & Social Care level 2 or equivalent
• You must be compassionate, hard-working and empathetic
• Be able to communicate clearly and effectively
• A PMVA is required for the Mental Health Assistant role. If you do not have one, you must be willing to obtain one
• A minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role is required
• All mandatory training and face to face training to date
• Immunisation reports
• A valid enhanced DBS
