Payroll Assistant - job overview

 

Due to a rapid increase in business London Teaching Pool Ltd are urgently seeking up a Payroll Assistant to be based at our office in Hainault. In this role, you will be using Merit software to input data and process people's hours, payslips and payrolls. You will need to be customer-focused and have fantastic attention to detail. Have exceptional multitasking and time management skills.

There is already a customer service team that will focus on day-to-day client enquiries, so this role is solely to use Merit software to process payroll.

 

You will be part of a hardworking and friendly team, who enjoy socialising together.

 

Ideal candidates will have 1year + of experience using Merit software in either the recruitment sector or alternative provider.

 

 

Payroll Assistant - your main duties will include:

 

  • Processing high volume payroll including statutory payments & deductions
  • Responsible for the checking of new start information
  • Run weekly reports in preparation for the monthly payrolls
  • Responsible for a wide range of payroll queries
  • Ensuring payroll tasks are fully completed and signed off
  • Liaising with umbrella companies
  • Assisting with month-end processes

 

Payroll Assistant - you must have the following skills / experience:

 

  • Experience in using Merit software, Inputting timesheet information (Hours, Rates of pay)
  • Experience in the use of MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience in conducting audits and reconciliations
  • Track record of delivering results with deadlines
  • Experience in documenting information in accurate summaries and supplying regular documentation
